I remember the very first level was in a dojo with Chop Chop Master Onion. Way too intense for the first level. He had a friggin' onion for a head (you could tell because of the stink lines).
He wanted to teach Parappa how to rap, which inevitably involved various martial arts moves that had nothing to do with rapping at all. In fact, none of the levels had anything to do with rapping.
I feel like we could all use a lesson from Chop Chop Master Onion.

Watch the video yet? He blocks about as often as you should in Champions. I'm not talking about tanking, I'm talking about Soloing, doing instances, fighting cosmics as DPS or support, or PvP. Blocking is a huge skill in this game, but because it's a new concept to an MMORPG, people often breeze over the second quest in the game where it teaches you to block. Even more than blocking, everyone should pick up a block enhancer power.
Here are some numbers from the blue laser on a fully Retconned character with no gear. That means all stats are 0.
No Block - 868
Normal Block - 289 (66% blocked)
Rank 1 Force Shield - 248 (71% blocked)
Rank 2 Force Shield - 217 (75% blocked)
Rank 3 Force Shield - 189 (78% blocked)
I know, it might not seem like a big improvement going from normal block to Rank 3 Force Shield, but let's look in terms of damage taken instead of damage blocked.
189/289 = 0.654
That's right, you'll take almost 33% less damage with Rank 3 Force Shield than with a normal block. So do yourself a favor, pick up a block enhancer, rank it up, and block with pride!
And do yourself a bigger favor, and go play some Parappa the Rappa!
