I Wouldn’t Worry About That Little Guy.

Unlike some MMORPGs out there, Champions Online works with very little RNG. Damage dealt often doesn’t stray far from the average, damage received is pretty stable (before resistances), an martial arts will always suck. However, there are still some strange occurrences (read: bugs) that pop up from time to time when adding all our stats together. What's going on?

Let's take a look at our 8th president.

Little known fact: Martin Van Buren's chops once roundhouse kicked Chuck Norris in the face

Notice something weird? Even though each point of Constitution adds 10 hitpoints, his constitution after gear provides him with 3 health points less than expected.
Turns out, Champions Online hates RNG so much, they do all their calculations out to like 4 decimal places. When I say all, I mean all. They even use decimals when generating stats on gear. We only see it when looking at Con, but it’s done for all stats. That’s why 1+1 sometimes equals 3 on the character portrait.
So if you want to min-max and get every little bit of a stat as you can and two pieces have the same benefits, pick the one with the higher level. That little guy after the decimal point might be higher.
